Project: Bicycle carwash for CARefree Sunday in Milwaukie, OR

Every Summer the city of Milwaukie blocks off a four mile stretch of road for an event called CARefree Sunday. The result is hundreds of people biking, walking, rolling, and connecting with the community.

This year CARefree Sunday was sponsored by Moda Health, and I was given the opportunity to design an activation for the event. The final outcome was a bicycle themed carwash with over 60 feet of water, bubbles, pool noodles, sponges, and a whole lot of fun!

Phase 1: Planning
After a lengthy brainstorming session, 'Spin Cycle' was the winning name for our bike wash. 'Spin' representing wheels, 'Cycle' representing wash.

To the left is the final rendering of the 'Spin Cycle' sign. The sign was built in layers to add dimension and was inspired by the look of retro car washes.
