Nice Girl Whiskey Branding
Nice Girl Whiskey reimagines a traditionally masculine-led industry through a bold, feminine lens—challenging the visual and cultural norms of the whiskey industry.
Inspired by the elegance of perfume packaging and the complexity of modern women, this brand blends softness with strength, creating a premium experience that feels both refined and unapologetically expressive. From the sculptural bottle design to the vibrant, unexpected color palette, every detail is crafted to break the mold and invite a more inclusive, modern audience into the world of whiskey.

R & D
The whiskey industry has long been dominated by masculine branding, characterized by bold labels, dark tones, and designs tailored to appeal to a predominantly male audience.
Color Palette: Dominated by dark tones (browns, blacks, greens), metallics (gold, copper), and muted neutrals, evoking ruggedness and tradition.
Typography: Traditional serif fonts, straight-line sans-serifs, and all-caps emphasize strength, heritage, and authority.
Design Elements: Heavy textures and heraldic symbols tie to craftsmanship and legacy. Symbols of power (barrels, crests, eagles) reinforce traditional masculinity.
But times are changing. Women are increasingly embracing whiskey, appreciating its complexity, depth, and character. Yet, much of the branding still caters to men, leaving women as an afterthought in the storytelling of this timeless spirit.
I set out to break the mold by creating a whiskey brand crafted with women in mind—yet so exceptional it can be enjoyed by all.
For the whiskey bottle design, I drew inspiration from the feminine curvature and sophisticated elegance of perfume bottles. I also incorporated distinctive design elements, such as a diamond-shaped top and thick glass base, elevating the bottle’s elegance and giving it a luxurious, high-end appearance.

COLOR PALETTE
The color palette was inspired by the jewel tones commonly found in perfume branding, featuring rich yellows, soft pinks, and royal blues.
The bold color choices were intentionally selected to stand out and make a statement. These vibrant jewel tones break away from traditional whiskey packaging, creating a striking visual contrast to the often muted, masculine hues typically seen in the industry. The vibrant yellows symbolize warmth and optimism, the pink adds a touch of femininity and elegance, and the royal blues infuse the design with a sense of luxury and refinement.
Together, these bold colors not only grab attention but also convey the whiskey’s premium quality and its appeal to a modern, diverse audience.
NAMING & LOGO DESIGN
I chose the name “nice girl” to challenge stereotypes and redefine what nice truly means. It’s a nod to the strength, confidence, and complexity that often go unnoticed in a world that often puts women in a box.
“nice girl” isn’t about being quiet or ordinary—it’s about embracing grace with grit, kindness with strength, and elegance with a fearless edge. This whiskey is a celebration of those who defy expectations and aren’t afraid to be bold and unapologetically themselves. After all, being a “nice girl” doesn’t mean playing small—it means making your mark, your way.
I chose this typeface for the logo because it seamlessly balances elegance and strength. Its bold, clean lines convey confidence and modernity, while its refined details add a touch of femininity. The gentle arc of the logo mirrors the soft curves of the font, creating a harmonious and balanced design.

PACKAGING
The pink, blue, and yellow hues from the color palette were carefully selected and paired to create a dynamic visual identity that complements the brand’s bold aesthetic. Each color plays a distinct role: the pink adds a touch of elegance and femininity, the blue brings depth and sophistication, and the yellow infuses warmth and energy. Together, these colors strike a perfect balance, reflecting the brand’s modern, vibrant personality while breaking away from traditional whiskey design conventions.
The curved edges were brought in to add an interesting design element that echos the rounded shape of the whiskey bottle itself. The flowing lines also reflect the soft arcs found in the logo, seamlessly tying the visual elements together. This interplay of color and form ensures that every detail feels intentional.
Descriptive tasting notes were added to each label, offering consumers a sensory preview of the flavors and aromas awaiting them inside the bottle.

THE FINAL PRODUCT
A bold departure from traditional whiskey design, Nice Girl Whiskey stands out with its sculptural form, vibrant palette, and unapologetic personality. Elegant yet strong, it’s a modern take on a classic spirit—designed to be seen, held, and remembered.
