Trail Blazer Playoff Activation

During an exciting playoff run for the Portland Trail Blazers—who advanced to the Western Conference Finals —I partnered with Moda Health to design a series of fan-focused activations that brought energy, creativity, and community into the postseason experience.

One of the standout moments was a social media–driven contest centered around a custom illustration of Damian Lillard. Fans were invited to download, color, and share their own interpretations of the poster, transforming a single piece of artwork into a collaborative, community-powered campaign. The concept tapped into the creativity of the fan base, encouraging participation while celebrating one of the team’s most iconic players.

The design approach balanced bold, expressive illustration with accessibility—creating something visually compelling that could easily translate across digital platforms and invite interaction. As submissions rolled in, the campaign evolved into a vibrant collection of fan-created content, blurring the line between brand, artist, and audience.

More than a traditional activation, the experience became a shared creative moment—amplifying fan engagement, celebrating team spirit, and reinforcing Moda’s role as an active, culturally connected partner within the Blazers community.

In round 2 of the playoffs we highlighted CJ McCollum and his mom, who are the brand ambassadors for Moda Health months.

 

The look of the activation was inspired by game shows such a 'The Price is Right' and 'Wheel of Fortune.' I designed a colorful backdrop and a spinning wheel with a panel for each month of the year with a different health topic. Engagement was high as patrons would spin the wheel to answer a trivia question about the whatever health month they landed on to win a prize!
